Linsay and Maggie Lunsford

CELEBRATING THEIR LIVES

THEIR STORY

This website is dedicated to the lives of Linsay and Maggie Lunsford, which were tragically cut short.  Linsay and Maggie were the innocent victims of a police chase that ended in a firey crash on December 1, 2007.  The police were pursuing a suspect when he veered into oncoming traffic and struck the Kia Sephia driven by Linsay.  Maggie was a passenger in the car.  Both Linsay and Maggie died on impact.  We as a family  have created this website to honor Linsay and Maggie, and show the world what bright and vibrant young people that they were.

Who was Maggie Rose Lunsford?

Maggie Rose Lunsford was born on April 14, 1998 at Person Memorial Hospital in Roxboro, N.C.  She was the 6th child to be born to Wayne and MaryAnn Lunsford.  Maggie was everyone's baby doll because she was so much younger than the rest of the kids.  She grew fast and was into everything.  Maggie was always a smart girl, she taught herself how to read at 3 and 1/2.  Maggie always had a book that she was working on, she loved to read.  When Maggie started school in 2003, she amazed everyone with how quickly she learned, and how smart she was.  Many times she would tell us she was the smartest one in her class. Maggie was a member of Stem United Methodist Church were she attended with her family.  Maggie also participated in some vacation Bible school.  Maggie loved the Lord with all her heart. Maggie was always busy doing something, if she wasn't playing with one of her many friends, she was busy with other activities.  Maggie got involved with soccer and played for 3 years.  She also took up karate, and at her death, she was a white belt yellow stripe.  Maggie had placed first in form and sparring in her first karate tournament.  Maggie placed first in form, sparring, and board breaking in her second karate tournament, which took place the morning before she died, December 1, 2007.  To say the least, Maggie was a well rounded, smart, and beautiful young girl.  She charmed everyone that met her.  Our family will never be the same without her bright smile and vivacious character.  Losing a child at 9 years old is unimaginable.  Maggie didn't deserve to die, she had too much to offer this world.  Maggie was the type of person, that you will never forget.  We trust God, for he has purposes for everything!  God rest your soul Maggie Rose Lunsford.

Who was Linsay Erin Lunsford?

Linsay Erin Lunsford was born on March 5, 1989 at Granville Medical Center.  She was the fourth child of proud parents, Wayne and MaryAnn Lunsford.  Linsay was a happy baby, and into everything from the start.  As she grew older she quickly became involved in as many clubs and extra curricular activities as possible.  Linsay was a member of Stem United Methodist Church as well as an avid participant in FCA(Fellowship of Christian Atheletes).  She also participated in a bible study with her friends at college.  Linsay had a strong faith, and she loved the Lord with all her heart.  Linsay was a very smart young lady.  She also played softball for 12 years. Linsay also was an avid tennis player.  She lettered in varsity tennis all four years of high school.  Linsay was a freshman a UNC Greensboro, where she was studying to be an elementary school teacher.  She was dedicated to everything that she became involved in.  Linsay loved to shop!  But don't think for one second that she was not after the best deal possible.  In fact Linsay was shopping just before her death on December 1, 2007.  Linsay cared a great deal about her presentation, she gave 100% in every aspect of her life.  Though Linsay only lived 18 years, she did a lot of things during that time.  Linsay was very spontaneous, and would easily find something to do if she ever felt bored.  Her friends will be the first to tell how dedicated she was to them as well.  Linsay is in heaven with the Lord, watching over the many, many lives she touched here on Earth.  She will never be forgotten.  God rest your soul Linsay Erin Lunsford.
